In addition to our monthly gardening talks and outings WHS holds a number of social activities throughout the year.

Coffee Mornings

Each year we hold a Spring and Autumn coffee morning. These take place in members' gardens and are very popular. We usually have several stalls offering cakes, jams and plants for sale. Some of the plants are donated by members and others come from a local nursery. There is also a raffle with a number of prizes. Members can have a cup of coffee and tour the garden as well as exchanging gardening news.

Strawberry Tea

Another very popular occasion in the horticultural society calendar is the strawberry tea. This takes place in June and is held in a member's garden. Apart from enjoying a delicious tea of strawberries & cream followed by cake there is the opportunity to walk round the garden which is always a very popular pastime.

Annual Supper 

In November each year the society organises a buffet supper which is held in the community hall. Over the years this has proved to be an enormously popular event where members and guests enjoy a delicious meal followed by an entertainment and raffle.
